Glendale’s sun can be brutal on home exteriors. We’ve spent years perfecting exterior painting techniques that stand up to California weather while making homes look amazing.
Look, your home’s exterior takes a beating here in Glendale. Between the California sun beating down and those temperature swings we get, paint doesn’t last like it should unless it’s done right. We’ve been doing this long enough to know what works and what doesn’t.
When we paint a house, we’re not just slapping on a coat and calling it done. There’s real prep work involved – fixing cracks, washing surfaces properly, making sure everything’s ready. The houses that still look great 10 years later? That’s because somebody took the time to do it right from the start. We use quality paints that can actually handle our climate, and yeah, it makes a difference.
Here’s how we actually work. First visit, we walk around your house and look at everything – not just a quick glance, but really checking what needs attention. Some cracks need filling, some areas might have moisture issues. Better to catch that stuff early.
Then comes the pressure washing. Gets rid of all the dirt and old loose paint. After that dries out, we do repairs where needed and get the surface smooth. Primer goes on next because paint needs something to grip onto properly.
The actual painting usually takes a few days depending on your house size. We do multiple coats – rushing through with one coat is asking for problems down the road. While we’re working, everything gets covered. Your plants, walkways, anything that shouldn’t have paint on it gets protected.
We handle pretty much everything on a house exterior. Stucco is huge around here, and it needs specific paints that can flex with the material. Regular paint on stucco? You’ll see cracks within a couple years.
Wood siding, fiber cement, trim around windows and doors – each one’s a bit different. Doors get a lot of use, so the paint there needs to be tough. Same with railings that people actually touch. Decks and fences are outdoor wood, so they need products made for that.
The thing is, you can’t paint everything the same way. What works great on smooth wood trim won’t necessarily be right for textured stucco.
We stick with proven paint brands. The cheap stuff might save money upfront, but you’ll be repainting in 5 years instead of 15. That’s not a good deal.
California sun is intense. Paints need UV blockers or colors fade fast. They also need to handle our temperature changes without cracking. The acrylic paints we use do both. For stucco, sometimes we go with elastomeric – it’s thicker and moves with the surface.
Moisture protection matters too, even here where rain isn’t constant. Morning dew, occasional storms – your paint needs to handle it without peeling or getting mildew.

Picking colors is tough. What looks good on a little sample card can look totally different on an entire house in full sun. We help people think through their options – what fits the neighborhood, what works with their style, what actually looks good in Glendale light.
Sometimes people want bold colors, sometimes they want subtle. Either way works if it’s done thoughtfully. We can show you samples on your actual house so you see it in real lighting before committing.
We’re licensed and insured, which should be baseline but apparently isn’t always. Our crews know what they’re doing because they’ve done hundreds of houses around here.
What really matters is whether we do thorough work or cut corners. We don’t rush. If prep takes an extra day because your house needs it, that’s what happens. The finish only looks as good as the prep work underneath.
We clean up completely when done, everything protected stays protected, and we stick to our timeline. You’ll get a straight answer about costs upfront – no surprises later.

Most houses take about a week, give or take. Bigger homes or ones needing extra prep take longer. Weather affects timing too since we won’t paint in bad conditions.
Spring and fall are ideal, but honestly we paint year-round here. Summer works if we time it right to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Winter’s fine too, just takes a bit longer to dry.
Quality work with good paint should give you 10-15 years. South-facing walls might need touch-ups sooner because they get the most sun exposure.
Yes, it’s included. We’ll talk through options and can put samples up so you see how they actually look on your house.
Everything gets covered and protected. We’re careful around plants and always clean up completely before we leave.
